DAY 2 - 1st rehearsal

Everyone was up for breakfast by 0750 and it was certainly worth being up for!! Everyone was well rested and we got on the coach to go to our first rehearsal just after 8.30am. 10 minutes later we reached the rehearsal venue and we have two excellent rooms to rehearse in, in a village just on the outskirts of Seville. So, the students were superb during our first rehearsal, excellent sight reading skills were evident!! They worked really hard and here are a couple of clips of their first efforts. One is an arrangement of a Seville folk song, El Vito, that is taught to every primary school child in Andalucia! In the afternoon we went to the great cathedral of Seville and up the Giralda tower of the original mosque. Dinner was fabulous and very plentiful at the Red Steak Restaurant!

Day 5 - Final rehearsal - Plaza de España - Setas de Sevilla, - 2nd Concert in San Juan Alzafranche

So, last night on our way back from the restaurant just barely 5 minutes away from the hotel the heavens opened in a way that Seville had not seen for many months! Roads and pavements turned into rivers and within moments we were completely soaked! It was still 25 degrees at this point and I was glad to see the students found the whole situation hilarious, as did many of the hotel guests who witnessed 54 bedraggled and soaked people traipse through the hotel lobby to their rooms! Today is our final rehearsal here in San Juan and we are focusing on polishing all the music we performed last night in preparation for tonight's final performance. Following our rehearsal we travelled to the Plaza de Espana and then back to our hotel where we had a wonderful surprise as Mrs Daniels and her husband made a surprise appearance and came to our concert in the evening!  In the afternoon most students joined us at the Sevilla Setas for many splendid views of he city. DAY 1 - travelling and arrival

We arrived safely and on time at Malaga, transferred to our coach and had a very comfortable journey through the beautiful and stunning countryside of Andalucia arriving in Seville at 5pm when we settled into our lovely hotel and the students seemd to be VERY happy with their rooms! We set off for the Restauarante Cabildo at 7.45 and arrived after a delightful 20 minute walk through the busy Seville streets. After a very satisfying meal at which the students were literally buzzing we returned to the hotel and all was quiet with sleep coming very quickly!
